Welcome to Hallam Teaching School Alliance 

Hallam Teaching School Alliance was one of the first cohort of Teaching Schools established in 2011. Based at Notre Dame High School in Sheffield, an outstanding school since 2008, Hallam Teaching School Alliance:

  • Offers high quality primary and secondary teacher training through the Sheffield SCITT
  • Supports Newly Qualified Teachers and RQTs and provides an appropriate body service 
  • Runs the South Yorkshire Maths Hub, working with over 400 schools in the region to develop Mathematics teaching – are you involved? Runs the Further Maths Support Network 
  • Runs the Sheffield, Barnsley & Rotherham Science Learning Partnership, offering comprehensive Science professional development at all Key Stages
  • Are highly experienced in School to School support ranging from short term consultancy, to pupil premium reviews, to longer term support 
  • Is actively leading a number of funded research projects into what works best in the classroom

Hallam Teaching School Alliance is a large, inclusive and growing group of in excess of 200 schools across the region. The alliance is coordinated at Notre Dame High School, Sheffield, a National Teaching School since 2011. The alliance has many strategic partners including partner schools, fellow teaching schools, Sheffield Hallam University and the Diocese of Hallam. Any school is welcome to work with us to access support or offer services to the alliance.
