Welcome to Hull Collaborative Teaching School
Hull Collaborative Teaching School is committed to providing the best training and opportunities for teachers, allowing them to develop their skill-sets and become better, more knowledgeable educators. The teaching school is a collaborative organisation that aims to establish top quality training, reflective of national good practice.
A group of head teachers passionate about working collaboratively formed Hull Collaborative Teaching school (HCTS). Our first website was developed to co-ordinate the promotion and booking of training all of which was developed and delivered by staff across our schools and partners. In March 2012 we were fully designated by NCTL, and work continued to support teachers across the alliance which was offered to all schools in Hull. In 2014 Highlands Primary school was also designated as a teaching school. The alliance broadened with a focus on developing partnership with secondary schools.
HCTS is focused on supporting teachers and school staff across their whole career. Initial teacher training became crucial as we trained and retained 43 teachers on the school direct route. Recognising that this was crucial to develop the educational opportunities of children in our schools we took a further step and our partner Hull SCITT opened in September 2015 with a cohort of 36 trainees.
