Welcome to Trent Valley Teaching School Alliance
TVTSA is based at Tuxford Academy. The Academy has been judged 'Outstanding' for two consecutive Ofsted visits and is a popular and successful school in rural Nottinghamshire, north of Newark on Trent. Tuxford School become Tuxford Academy in 2011 and is part of the Diverse Academies Learning Partnership (DALP).
Expectations are high, examination results are impressive and parents are supportive. Everyone associated with the Academy is proud of what has been achieved over the years through teamwork and determination. The Academy has grown significantly and now has approximately 1500 students on role including a popular Post 16 Centre.
Tuxford has played a leading role in professional development within Nottinghamshire since 2007 when it became a designated Training School, achieving Teaching School Status in April 2012. Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to new and experienced school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system. With an alliance of Strategic Partners, Trent Valley Teaching School has responsibility for leading a ‘self- improving school system’. Furthermore TVTSA collaborates with a number of other Teaching School Alliances in Nottinghamshire in an endeavour to ensure a wide range of opportunities for staff in both Primary and Secondary schools / academies.
TVTSA takes pride in its personalised approach. Our alliance schools benefit from a varied menu of opportunities from which choices may be made to meet individual school/academy needs. We welcome new ideas and initiatives and are always eager to welcome and second new colleagues to our team as advisers, professional tutors or leaders of education.
