What is the EMSYH SEND Hub?
"EMSYH is a diverse region and one which is populated with a wealth of expertise and talent in the provision for pupils with SEND. Through use of the WSS SEND Framework, we believe that we can build a community of learning within each sub-region, which will support our vision for a regional hub. We have been overwhelmed by the support and commitment of colleagues to share their practice, and wish to support them in liberating the talent in our schools for the benefit of all"
Whole School SEND
Whole School SEND’s strategy focusses on embedding SEND into school improvement with the development of a Community of Practice. This growing Community of Practice currently has more than 4500 schools/settings and providers and is set to rise to 10,000 by the end of the contract. The Whole School SEND Schools’ Workforce contract is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND by networking, collaborating and unlocking the answers that exist within the system.
SEND Regional Leads
The regional SEND lead for the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and the Humber is Judith Smith, and the position of deputy is filled by Jane Starbuck. Judith is currently the Executive Headteacher at Talbot Specialist School and Fuision TSA in Sheffield, as well as being an NLE and as a school improvement advisor. Jane was once a headteacher, and now is the Inclusion Lead for a network of Newark schools, including both primary and secondary schools.

TSC SEND School Improvement Partnership commission
TSC SEND School Improvement Partnership requires two lead Teaching Schools per TSC region to deliver this commission;
1. A partnership between a Special School that would benefit from working more closely with a mainstream Teaching School and explore how the partnership could drive improvement within the Special school.
2. A partnership between a mainstream school that would benefit from working more closely with a Special Teaching School and explore how the partnership could drive improvement provision for pupils with SEND within the mainstream school.
